George Harvey and Joe Humphreys

Well, what better way to start a blog than with some big news (at least its big to me). This past Wednesday, February 16, 2005, I had the honor and privilege of meeting one of the biggest names in our beloved sport of fly fishing, George Harvey. I was invited down to Spruce Creek to have lunch with George and also with Joe Humphreys.
I had met Joe for the first time last October and had the distinct privilege of fishing with him and learning from him. Joe is such a delightful gentleman and was such a blast to fish with. He is such a wealth of fly fishing knowledge.
Anyway, back to our lunch meeting. We had a delightful lunch and sat around the table for an hour and a half as I listened to George, Joe and Doc (our gracious host) swap the most amazing and entertaining stories of growing up and the early days of fly fishing, Penn State and numerous fishing experiences together on some of the local streams.
I was also able to get my picture taken with them and haven't gotten it back yet, but if it turns out ok, I'll post it as well.
Tight Lines,
Steve
